I became a personal trainer to help people achieve their goals in a gym environment wherever I can. Success in the gym environment may be as simple as getting through the doors for your first session, fitting into an old item of clothing or increasing your 1 rep max deadlift. I pride myself in my ability to make each session specific to a client’s goals and aspirations regardless of fitness level or background.
I aim to make sessions exciting and innovative and won’t be making you run on a treadmill for an hour. I will push you to get the most out of your sessions, whether it be lifting heavier, lifting for longer or helping challenging yourself more than you would on your own.

A little about me.

I’ve always loved playing sport from as early as I can remember, in particular cricket. As an aspiring cricketer having played semi-professional cricket and county cricket believe I’ve gained good skills that lend to being a successful motivational personal trainer. I play cricket semi-professionally for national champions Hanging Heaton in the Bradford league and have also played for Yorkshire, Northamptonshire and Worcestershire.
I’m currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at Leeds Beckett University. Whether it be the biomechanics of running technique, the psychological effect of training or the impact of good nutrition I have comprehensively studied all aspects of fitness and performance in both recreational and professional environments. All current studies and research can in some way have a practical application in the gym or in a training environment and help in turn people to achieve their fitness goals.
Regarding my personal fitness, I started my first gym session at 18 and so began my fitness journey. I’ve trained in elite level strength and conditioning environments and have trained as a bodybuilder, powerlifter and an Olympic weightlifter. I enjoy all elements of fitness and like to try different styles of training to better develop my own knowledge of the fitness industry.

Week in week out, I can see and feel the progress. Truly awesome sessions, that I enjoy (words I never thought I’d be saying). Josh works hard to mix it up for me, he challenges me each week but at the same time keeps it fun, if I didn’t enjoy it I wouldn’t be doing it. I have things yet to master and I may not be lifting the heaviest weights, but I have the technique right and I am lifting weights!
Josh’s biggest achievement for me is the confidence he’s given me to keep pushing myself. 
Don’t get me wrong there are some days when I feel like I can’t go on, maximum effort often means feeling like I have nothing left in the tank and I can’t even repeat what I call Josh in my head at those times J
