Getting your diet right when dealing with an autoimmune disease is a huge part of the self care and healing process.
Speaking from experience I can vouch that if I eat anything processed I will suffer the consequences so eating right is vital.
A healthy lifestyle starts with fruit, vegetables, and whole grains along with protein. By adding in these specific foods you can help boost your immune and give it a fighting opportunity:
Boosting Beans: Red Beans Black Beans Kidney Beans all play a role in boosting your immune, they are a great anti inflammatory and also an excellent source of protein. Protein plays a crucial role in building your cells. Beans Beans are good for the heart the more you eat.. they are also packed with other nutrients too vitamin B, Magnesium and Fibre. I always throw in loads of different beans into my slow cooker dishes especially my Chilli Chilli Chilli, perfect in salads too..
Eat Your Greens: Dark leafy green veg such as Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard should be on your plate daily. I always tell my ladies to et their greens as they are packed full of vitamins C, K and Folate. The darker your greens too the more antioxidants it has. I make a great Green Smoothie every morning ensuring I get my daily dose of good nutrients this is also an easy way to have your greens.
